  • Manchester United could make a move for Jadon Sancho this summer
  • Borussia Dortmund gentleman's agreement could be referencing to $152 million asking price
  • Erling Haaland holds no similar agreement, hinting that he will likely remain with Borussia Dortmund

Jadon Sancho was someone that Manchester United tried to recruit last August, but the club fell short as Borussia Dortmund made sure that they would retain the services of the English winger.

However, a new development has now emerged. It appears there is a certain “gentleman’s agreement” in place, meaning that a Sancho transfer to Old Trafford could be happening this summer.

The special agreement was confirmed no less by Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc via ARD.

The team executive explained how the 20-year-old could switch teams but under the premise that he satisfies certain conditions.

Per The Athletic, the said conditions seem to be referencing the $152 million asking fees of Dortmund.

Additionally, Zorc revealed that this special agreement does not apply to Erling Haaland. The future of the attacking duo has now taken the spotlight with Die Borussen at risk of missing the UEFA Champions League.

"We already had a gentlemen's agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions," Zorc stated. "He's been with us for a couple of years. However, this agreement does not exist with Erling."

As for Sancho, this revelation is expected to spark new rounds of rumors of the winger possibly joining the Red Devils anew.

It will be recalled that Manchester United was pressured to make an offer for Sancho in August, but nothing came.

Sancho has had a good season despite yielding to a calf injury in March. This was something that kept him out of the Champions League quarter-final clash against Manchester City.

But overall, he still managed to rack up 12 goals and 18 assists to his name this season.

In the four seasons that Sancho has played in Bundesliga, he has produced 46 goals in 133 appearances.

Haaland is another player on the wish list of Manchester United, but his status is pretty much different from that of Sancho.

No agreement is in place, meaning the best the Red Devils can hope for is land Sancho and hold off their chase of Haaland for another day.
