KEY POINTS

  • Eivor is the star of the leaked footages that came out ahead of Ubisoft's event on Sunday
  • A female Eivor has also been revealed, leading an attack on a keep
  • Fans are now hoping that fresh, non-leaked footage will be revealed in the Ubisoft Forward conference

Ahead of the Ubisoft Forward conference, “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” suffered a sort of setback as footage of a boss fight has been leaked out to the general public. It shows the hero Eivor in battle against a figure that’s known in British lore.

According to IGN, the new footage features Eivor going up against Cordelia, one of the daughters of King Lerion. Cordelia is also the same character from Shakespeare’s “King Lear,” based on the legend of Leir of Britain and his daughters Gonorill, Ragan and Cordelia. However, the fight between the Assassin and Cordelia is featured with a degree of mysticism that the game is known for, similar to past games in the series like "Assassin's Creed: Odyssey" and "Assassin's Creed Origins," which are rooted in mythology and antiquity.

It also appears that the process for triggering the fight is similar to other games in the series, particularly “Odyssey.” In that game, the Cyclops is a world boss. Cordelia has been called as a “demon goddess” in the game, and she wears a skull headdress as she is attacked by Eivor with arrows. She also teleports in the arena, has the ability to call lightning bolts from the sky and cast glowing copies of herself as part of her attacks.

Gamerant added that there are other scenes where Eivor is portrayed as a female. In one footage, the hero’s female version is seen riding through a village on horseback, only to be ambushed by wolves as she leaves it. She then meets up with a man named Finnr, discussing plans for an assault on Burgh Castle where a man named Rued is holed up.

The next scene shows the Burgh Castle assault, where the Viking longboats move toward while flaming arrows rain from the sky. An explosive boat takes out one of the walls as the female Eivor leads the sieve into the keep. In the scene, she’s adept using an axe as a weapon, and helps in taking down the gates using a battering ram.

With these scenes already available, people are hoping that fresh, non-leaked footage is included in “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s” Ubisoft Forward event. The conference will be held on Sunday, July 12.
