KEY POINTS

  • Anderson Silva is open to facing either Jake or Logan Paul in a fight
  • A fight with Logan may have better chances of happening than a bout with the younger Paul brother
  • Silva plans to keep fighting until he reaches 49 years old

Former UFC champion Anderson Silva appears to be doing well in the boxing ring. The 46-year-old is set to face Tito Ortiz on Saturday, only a few months after defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Silva’s fight with Ortiz is a boxing match, an event that calls to mind the focus of YouTuber Jake Paul as of late. The only difference here is that Silva and Ortiz are both mixed martial artists, making the fight a bit interesting, CBS Sports reported.

Incidentally, Silva wouldn’t mind facing Jake or Logan Paul if the opportunity arises. Speaking to TMZ, the Brazilian did not close the door on a possible showdown with either of the Paul brothers.

"Everything is possible. Jake Paul and Logan are doing a lot of good work in this new entertaining show. We'll see. Everything is possible. I respect both. [Jake] is doing good, working hard. So, we'll see, maybe this is possible too," Silva stated.

Silva revealed that he plans to fight until he is 49 years old, meaning he will have three years to make a fight with either Jake or Logan happen. But closing a deal may not be easy.

"My goal is my last fight is 49 [years old]. 49, I'm done. Probably, I'm done. That is my goal. Fight 3 more years and done. 49. That's the number. Maybe I can fight more, but right now my goal is when I turn 49, I stop fighting," Silva explained.

In the case of Jake, he has yet to face a legitimate boxer in the ring. He has faced opponents who have little to no background in boxing. Hence, seeing him face off against Silva, for now, is unlikely.

But the case may be different for Logan. The elder of the two is coming off a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr., a bout that most were not happy about.

Regardless, the fact is that the 26-year-old YouTube personality faced a legitimate boxer, suggesting there is a bigger chance of seeing him fight the former UFC champion.

For now, the focus is the Ortiz bout this weekend. After that, it will be interesting if a fight with either Jake or Logan will gain ground.
