  • Victor Ortiz feels Floyd Mayweather will be in for a tough night against Logan Paul
  • Ortiz is awed by Paul's power punches
  • The retired boxer says Mayweather could get hurt if Paul unloads a good punch

Floyd Mayweather is the hands-down favorite when he returns to the ring to face neophyte boxer Logan Paul.

It is a fight most feel is all about the money, but there are people not counting out the YouTuber. Among them is former Mayweather opponent Victor Ortiz.

The 33-year-old, who fought and lost via knockout to Mayweather in 2011, warns that the 43-year-old should not take Paul for granted.

He points out how the internet sensation is bigger and heavier than the undefeated American boxer.

Ortiz saw firsthand what the 25-year-old is capable of doing. He visited Paul’s house in Encino, California, and watched the YouTuber knock out his last three sparring partners in the final rounds.

His foes were reportedly bonafide professional boxers, MMA Fighting reported.

Some may debate that Ortiz is a good friend of Paul. But then again, all he is saying that it may not be a lopsided clash as most predict in February 2021.

“What I’m saying, in a sense, is that he will give Floyd trouble. I’m telling you, it’s going to be an interesting fight. I’ve talked to him about Floyd a few times... I give him the simple things: ‘Floyd is Floyd, but you’re unstoppable. You’re on another level.’ I strongly believe Floyd will have trouble. Logan can box, and he has power, reach speed, and he can move now,” Ortiz explained.

Ortiz was likely there to give Paul some tips against the “Flamboyant One.” Facing tall odds, the YouTuber will need all the help he needs to make the fight interesting.

However, Ortiz cautions that it will take a lot of hard work to earn one’s keep and respect.

“From what I see at the gym, I can honestly say Logan can probably hit harder than [Mayweather],” he stated. “Now, who’s more accurate? We’ll see Feb. 20.”

Ortiz is the best person to gauge how hard Mayweather can punch. He recalls his last clash with the retired boxer, explaining that he got knocked out when he was not looking and had his hands down.

“[I said], ‘C’mon champ, show me how hard you hit.’ I took them flush in the mouth. Which one dropped me and which one ‘knocked me out?’ When I was looking outside the ring, waiting for a time-in, he went back to the corner, ran up, unloaded a right. My three-year-old could drop me, too, if I wasn’t looking,” he recalled.

Mayweather and Paul will square off against each other on Feb. 20, and according to reports, it will not be the last for the American boxing icon.

"Money" is no stranger to exhibition fights and it appears there are more coming after sharing the ring with the YouTuber, per Fanmio.
