Undefeated British boxing world champion Tyson Fury will be under pressure in the next few months following an arbitrary ruling essentially forcing him to fight rival Deontay Wilder by September 2021.

Fury is originally scheduled to battle countryman Anthony Joshua in a Saudi Arabia super-fight in August to unify all heavyweight title belts.

However, a US judge ruled that Wilder has the right to face Fury for the third time, since it was in the details of their fight contract.

Fury previously won the WBC and The Ring heavyweight world championship belts in February 2020, beating Wilder in a rematch after the two fought to a draw two years earlier.

A trilogy bout had been in the works for July 2020, but due to the coronavirus situation that affected the sporting world, Wilder's camp negotiated a 2021 date.

Fury refused and moved on, leading to Wilder's side seeking the help of an arbitrary ruling.

According to ESPN's Mark Kriegel, Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum, Fury's promoter, will likely follow the ruling instead of paying a hefty step-aside fee for Wilder not to pursue a third fight.

Arum, per the report, already disclosed the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas as the venue for a potential Fury-Wilder contest for July 24—and that the Joshua fight may be moved to November or December.

"We're not paying Wilder to step aside. It's better to get rid of him and go about our business. We can make the Fury-Joshua fight for November or December," Arum said.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn had said that terms of the August match are already set and a deal is expected to be consummated in the next days to make back-to-back gigantic showdowns possible for Fury.

All three powerhouse heavyweight boxers have not fought in 2021.

Joshua knocked out Kubrat Pulev in December 2020 to retain his WBA, IBF and WBO belts, while both Fury and Wilder have not seen action in the ring since their February 2020 rematch.
