“Allied” actor Brad Pitt is being investigated by the FBI for child abuse after his divorce from estranged wife Angeline Jolie, TMZ wrote Thursday. The FBI is handling the claims instead of the Los Angeles Police Department because they do not have jurisdiction.

Initially, the case was referred to the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). They received a tip from an anonymous caller that he was drunk on a private jet last week, which led him to verbally and physically abuse his kids: Maddox, Pax, Sahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox. The family was flying from France to the U.S.

The Los Angeles County DCFS wouldn’t confirm if they were investigating Pitt. “We’re prohibited by law from disclosing case specific information or even identifying any involvement with any client,” Public Information Officer Neil Zanville told Us Weekly.

The private jet touched town in Minnesota last Wednesday. Pitt was “out of control” when he disembarked from the aircraft, a source told TMZ. He tried to leave the airport in a fuel truck.

There are conflicting reports about the allegations. Jolie supposedly planted the story so she could get full custody. “He was never physically abusive to her or the kids. He did yell at one of their children on the plane during an argument, but he didn’t hit the child. Brad is denying claims of inappropriate behavior,” a source told the New York Post’s Page Six Thursday. “Angelina is putting out (the abuse) story to take the kids away from him.”

The LAPD said the story was “made up.” “It’s not true. There is no criminal investigation or any investigation of any kind against Brad Pitt,” LAPD Sgt. Barry Montgomery told The New York Post.

The father-of-six reportedly denied the claims.

Jolie, 41, filed for divorce from Pitt, 52, Monday. She cited “irreconcilable differences.” Jolie is not seeking spousal support, but wants full custody of their six children. She requested a judge grant Pitt visitation rights. He reportedly wants joint custody.
