  • Britney Spears shared two selfies on Instagram and discussed her weight loss tips

  • Spears said she looked "heavier" in some of her dance videos from the summer but felt she was "happier" at the time

Britney Spears reflected on her recent weight loss efforts, just days after news broke that her father has agreed to step down as her conservator.

The pop superstar took to Instagram Friday to share two close-up photos of her face. Spears accompanied the snaps with a lengthy caption, in which she broke down the steps she typically takes to shed pounds.

"It’s really weird whenever I try to slim down it usually starts with my legs first ... then my stomach ... then my face ... and that's when I know I’ve actually lost weight!!!!" she wrote.

However, Spears confessed: "When you swipe to the second pic you can actually really see how slim my face is, but I’m not so sure I like it."

The "Toxic" singer noted that heavier women were considered more attractive "in the old days" because their weight was a "sign of wealth."

She went on to share that though she "looked heavier" in some of her dance videos from this summer, "it's weird 'cause I think I was happier!!!!"

"Oh well ... sorry for my shallow talk of weight … but it is what it is you know!!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!" Spears concluded her caption, adding a sun emoji.

Spears received supportive messages from her followers in the comments.

"Britney, you are perfect. Truly and completely perfect," Josh Helfgott commented.

"You're perfect in every shape," one fan wrote with two heart emojis.

"You are beautiful at any size and you are as skinny as a needle always!" a third user added.

"You’re most beautiful when you’re comfortable in your own skin. Big or small....just be happy," a fourth netizen commented.

"You’re perfect just the way you are!" another user wrote.

Spears often posts videos of herself working out or dancing on her Instagram. In May, she shared that she’d felt the need to step up her health and fitness game to keep up with her boyfriend Sam Asghari, who is a personal trainer.

She then slammed in June the “rude and mean” paparazzi who have allegedly been manipulating photos to make her appear larger.

“Not only do they take my picture … they distort my body and mess with the image,” she said. “I know my body is not perfect but I definitely do NOT look like how they portray me.”

Meanwhile, Spears' latest post follows Thursday's court filing by her father Jamie Spears, who is finally relinquishing control of her estate. This marked a major victory for her as she battles to end a 13-year conservatorship — even though he did not immediately resign.

According to the filing, Spears will work with the court and his daughter's attorney, Matthew Rosengart, to "prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator." However, Jamie will only step aside after "pending matters" related to his role as conservator are resolved "to facilitate a smooth transition," the documents said.
