KEY POINTS

  • BTS is set to release its second English-language track on May 21
  • This new track is expected to break the records "Dynamite" has set
  • "Butter" is also predicted to reign supreme on Billboard Hot 100 chart

BTS received a nod from the iconic British rock band, Queen. The legendary rock band retweeted the video teaser for the K-pop group's imminent dance-pop track titled "Butter" Tuesday.

"'Are you ready hey are you ready for this...' Another One Bites The Dust x #BTS_Butter," Queen posted via its official Twitter account, alongside a GIF of its late frontman Freddie Mercury.

The now-deleted tweet got several reactions from both Queen and BTS fans.

The South Korean supergroup served another taste of their much-awaited new digital single by releasing its first official teaser earlier this week. The video features a black-and-white filtered clip showing Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, RM, V and Suga, who all look elegant in their 80s-inspired suits.

The BTS members can then be seen moving their heads to a catchy beat, which is similar to that of Queen's "Another Bites the Dust." After the Bangtan Boys pose, the teaser quickly cuts to a close-up of three stacks of pancakes topped with dripping syrup and butter. Toward the end of the "Butter" teaser, Jungkook can be heard singing "Get it, let it roll" in the background.

The trailer came after Big Hit Music dropped colorful photos of all BTS members sporting edgy rock and roll-inspired ensembles.

"Butter" will be the group's second English-language song after their Grammy-nominated track "Dynamite." Devoted followers of BTS have been rallying to surpass the records set by "Dynamite," including being the fastest music video by a K-pop group to garner one million views and having the most simultaneous views for a music video on YouTube.

"Butter" has already set the record of being the fastest music video teaser to surpass one million likes on YouTube. The official trailer has also garnered more than 35 million views and 4.3 million comments as of writing. Currently, it is also the No. 2 trending clip on the said video-sharing platform.

Considering early metrics, "Butter" is expected to claim the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Most, if not all, fans are aware that BTS had three consecutive No. 1 hits on the said tally last year with "Dynamite," "Savage Love" and "Life Goes On."
