  • Khandor Hideout is a medium-sized map which will offer a variety of options for combat

Infinity Ward and Activision are dropping a slew of updates for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare this week, highlighted by a new map that will offer new strategic challenges to players.

According to the announcement in the Activision Blog, the newest Modern Warfare map is called Khandor Hideout. It is described as a “medium-sized” map in the Syrkistan location, and it will be available for modes supporting 6-vs-6 play.

The new map will offer a variety of options for combat, thanks to its “long sight lines and interior spaces.” This means that players can opt for long-range battle and close fights, making the multiplayer option more diverse.

With that said, it presents tactical challenges since players have to consider the possibility of getting attacked closely or killed out of nowhere.

“The large centrally located warehouse is a hub of activity and haven for CQB players. Hunt down your enemies and be wary of marksmen firing down lanes in Khandor Hideout,” Activision further wrote in their announcement.

The Khandor Hideout goes live for free tomorrow, March 24, at 11 p.m. PT.

Aside from the new map, a new operator named Talon also comes to Modern Warfare. The said operator comes with a dog named Indiana, who is set to spice up Talon’s finishing move.

On the other hand, in Call of Duty: Warzone, four new weapons will be added, namely the 725, MK2 Carbine, .50 GS and EBR-14. As described, “each weapon comes with distinct strengths in its class” and can be found across “Verdansk in both Common and Uncommon rarities.”

The big question now for Infinity Ward and Activision is how the map will be received by the community. After all, the details they provided are incomplete and are not enough to give gamers an overall feel for the new location.

Regardless, players do not need to wait for long before the Khandor Hideout, along with all the new free DLC, arrives.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the 16th overall installment in the Call of Duty series. It was released last October 2019 and is currently available to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
