Camilla Parker Bowles surprised the crowd when she touched Richard Branson’s beard at the Wimbledon on Wednesday. At that time, Prince Charles wasn’t around.

Bowles shook hands with Branson while at the tournament, and she was also seen seemingly touching the man’s facial hair. Following their encounter, the Duchess of Cornwall went to the Royal Box to watch the tennis match. She was joined by Sophie, Countess of Wessex to the sports event. Bowles’ younger sister, Annabel, was also there.

The Duchess’ recent sighting served as the third time that Bowles was seen in public this week. She first attended Prince Louis’ christening on Monday, and she was also present at the RAF centenary service on Tuesday.

Prince Charles’ wife also had the opportunity to speak to the other attendees that also watched Wimbledon from the Royal Box. For instance, she had a conversation with Grant Cantin, the head groundsman.

“It was an honor to just be invited to meet her. She asked about the tennis courts and the heat. It was a proud moment for her to recognize the hard work that goes into keeping them in great shape,” he said.

In related news, Prince Charles, Prince Philip, Kate Middleton, and Meghan Markle have not made an appearance at the Wimbledon this year. But Middleton’s mom, Carole Middleton, was spotted at the event on Wednesday.

There are speculations suggesting Markle and Middleton will go to the tennis tournament together before it concludes on July 15. Markle is currently in Ireland with Prince Harry for an official visit. Middleton, on the other hand, is still on maternity leave.

Markle’s good friend, Serena Williams, also hinted at the possibility of Markle attending her match this year. The Duchess of Sussex attended Wimbledon two years ago as a guest for Ralph Lauren. Williams said that Markle will most likely make an appearance at this year’s Wimbledon if she keeps on winning.
