Camilla Parker Bowles reportedly used to make outrageous demands for her "filthy" habit that Prince Charles hated.

Brian Hoey, author of the book "Not in Front of the Corgis," claimed that the Duchess of Cornwall previously gave precise instructions to footmen when it came to the house she shared with Prince Charles, specifically regarding her smoking habit.

“Footmen are instructed to place silver cigarette boxes containing her favourite brand [of cigarette] in every room,” Hoey claimed.

Camilla is reportedly also very particular about the way the containers are placed. She wanted to ensure that the they are accessible when she needs one.

The staff apparently had to make sure that the matchbox holder was placed upright. In addition, there was supposed be one match half withdrawn, so she didn’t have to scrabble about looking for a light. That’s not all, the author claimed that they also had to tidy up after her.

“The moment she leaves the room - even if just for a few minutes - a footman makes sure the ashtrays are emptied, ready for her return,” Hoey continued.

Camilla’s cigarette bill totaled to over $126. The duchess reportedly used to smoke 10 sticks a day, and it was the one extravagance that Prince Charles hated about Camilla. He reportedly even referred to it as “that filthy habit."

The Prince of Wales is apparently strongly against smoking and spent years persuading Camilla to quit. Eventually, the Duchess of Cornwall gave up smoking after 30 years. She did it with the help of her alternative health guru, Mosara Ali.

Camilla is not the only royal family member who smokes. Prince Harry used to smoke as well and even partied hard. However, the Duke of Sussex changed when he started dating his now-wife Meghan Markle.

The former “Suits” star was deemed to be a beautiful influence on Prince Harry. Markle reportedly encouraged Prince William’s brother to be in his best shape and to be healthy months before their royal wedding.

It’s not surprising that Prince Charles considers smoking extravagant because he is “quite frugal.” According to Sky Royal reporter Rhiannon Mills, the future king even refused to refurbish a damaged sofa because he didn’t want to spend money, despite being urged by staff several times to replace it.
