It’s only been a few hours since Kansas defeated North Carolina in the 2022 national championship game, but it’s never too early to look ahead to next season. Three of the teams that reached this year’s Final Four are among the favorites to win the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Can Kansas repeat as champions in 2023? The Jayhawks have the third-best odds to win next year’s title, trailing only Duke and North Carolina. Kansas knocked off the Tar Heels 72-69 for the 2022 national title on Monday.

Duke opens as the 2023 national championship favorite with +900 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook. North Carolina is second with +1100 odds. Kansas has +1200 odds to win a second straight championship.

The Blue Devils are given the best chance to win the NCAA Tournament in their first season without coach Mike Krzyzewski on the bench in 42 years. Duke has the No. 1 recruiting class in college basketball, according to rivals.com. Four players from this year’s team could be first-round picks in the 2022 NBA Draft.

North Carolina defeated Duke in the Final Four and came up just short in the national championship game. Nearly becoming the second No. 8 seed to win the NCAA Tournament, the Tar Heels could make another deep March Madness run with many of the same players.

There’s a good chance that starting guards Caleb Love and R.J. Davis will return for their junior seasons. Double-double machine Armando Bacot could be one of college basketball’s best players next season as a senior with North Carolina.

Because Ochai Agbaji, Remy Martin and David McCormack are all seniors, Kansas is set to lose its most important players. The Jayhawks always find a way to contend. Kansas last missed the NCAA Tournament in 1989 and has earned a No. 1 seed nine times in the last 15 years.

Kansas has the No. 3 recruiting class for next season. Bill Self’s team will try to become the first national champion to successfully repeat since Florida won it all in 2006 and 2007.

Kentucky is tied with Kansas with +1200 odds to win next year’s championship. The Wildcats entered the 2022 NCAA Tournament with the best title odds of any No. 2 seed, but they were shocked by No. 15 Saint Peter’s in a first-round upset.

Arkansas and Gonzaga are tied for fourth with +1400 championship odds after their clash in the Sweet Sixteen. Arkansas upset Gonzaga, which entered March Madness as the No. 1 overall seed. The Razorbacks have the No. 2 recruiting class in the country.

Gonzaga has never won a national championship, despite making 22 consecutive NCAA Tournaments and seven straight trips to the Sweet Sixteen.
