The chances that Tiger Woods will play in the 2022 Masters appear to be increasing by the day. It was reported that Woods arrived at Augusta National Golf Club Tuesday, and sources have told ESPN that Woods played an 18-hole practice round.

The Masters lists Woods as part of the field that will compete in the tournament next week. Until the 15-time major winner announces that he won’t play at Augusta, there will be speculation that Woods might actually make his return after being seriously injured in a car accident over 13 months ago.

Can Woods win the 2022 Masters if he plays? Would he even make the cut after the first two rounds?

Considering it will be considered a remarkable achievement if Woods plays in the tournament at all, his chances of winning a sixth green jacket are not very realistic. The odds suggest that Woods would only compete on Thursday and Friday before the field decreases in the final two rounds.

BetMGM gives Woods -250 odds to miss the cut at the Masters. Woods has +175 odds to make the cut and play all four rounds.

What about Woods’ final spot on the 2022 Masters leaderboard? Woods has +300 odds to finish in the top 20, +550 odds to land in the top 10 and +1400 odds to place in the top five.

When Woods landed at Augusta Tuesday, his odds to win the Masters went from 66/1 to 50/1. Only 19 golfers have better odds to win the green jacket.

Woods overcame the odds for the 2019 Masters championship, winning his 15th major at 43 years old. It’s Woods’ only major championship in the last 13 years.

Woods was last seen playing competitive golf at the PNC Championship in December with his son Charlie, though the tournament is an exhibition event.
