When Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin met in their highly anticipated middleweight championship fight last year, the bout ended in an unsatisfying draw. The boxing world is looking for a definitive winner in Saturday’s rematch, and that’s exactly what the sport is expected to get.

The latest betting odds for Canelo vs. GGG 2 indicate that a draw is the least likely outcome for the upcoming fight at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena. Golovkin is the favorite, and a victory for him by decision is given the best odds of any possible result. A knockout win for Golovkin isn’t far behind.

Eight months after his first fight with Alvarez, Golovkin knocked out Vanes Martirosyan in the second round of their bout. It marked the 34th knockout of Golovkin’s career in 39 fights, and the 160-pound champion has still never suffered a loss in his professional career.

Golovkin took the Martirosyan fight when his initial rematch with Alvarez was canceled because the Mexican boxer tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug. Alvarez blamed the failed drug test on tainted meat.

Alvarez has the same number of career stoppages as his opponent, though he’s needed 13 more fights to get there. Six of his last 10 fights have been decided by the judges’ scorecards, and Alvarez is given a much better chance to win by decision than knockout.

Neither fighter has ever been knocked down in their respective careers. Alvarez’s only loss came at the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a majority decision.
