Singer Debbie Gibson, winner of the NBC television reality show Celebrity Apprentice, will donate the $50,000 prize money to Children International, a U.S. based humanitarian organization.

The Children International is planning to use the money to help poor children in India.

In the reality television show Celebrity Apprentice, two celebrity teams compete in business-driven tasks around New York City. Each team under the supervision of a designated project manager has to win the challenges using their fame and proven business shrewdness.

The singer volunteered as a project manager and her inventiveness in creating a 10-minute presentation to launch the new Buick Verano made the team win the show.

We won! It was intense. But throughout the difficult moments of the challenge I kept connecting with the poor mothers and the children I met in the Philippines. If the mothers can live in the level of poverty they live in, then I can make through the stress of the show in order to help them, said Gibson.

The Children International will use the amount to build a community center to serve 5,000 poor children in Kolkata, India. The community center will have a medical and dental clinic, pharmacy, library, computer lab and a playground.

Children International, an award-winning humanitarian organization, helps more than 340,000 children and their families in 11 countries around the world.
