The Los Angeles Chargers are in the hunt to win the AFC West and are hoping to have their top receiver available in the final weeks of the regular season.

Keenan Allen reportedly might be out when the Chargers host the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, Dec. 22 but he is expected to return during the regular season.

Allen left in the second quarter of Thursday's important 29-28 win over the Kansas City Chiefs after suffering a hip pointer injury while attempting to make a difficult catch in the end zone. The 26-year-old returned to the field for one play but later went to the medical tent and did not return.

Allen has 88 receptions for 1,074 yards on the season, slightly below his pace from his 2017 Pro Bowl season, when he finished with 102 receptions for 1,393 yards.

In Allen's absence, Mike Williams finished with nine receptions for 76 yards and two touchdowns.

The Chargers were without Melvin Gordon (knee) and Austin Ekeler (concussion). Both are expected to return for Week 16.

The Chargers, who clinched a playoff berth after four straight wins, close out the season with the Ravens in Week 16 and a road game against the Denver Broncos to end the season.
