In the past few months, TikTok has grown in popularity to find its way into mainstream culture and Charli D’Amelio is leading the pack of famous faces from the platform.

The 15-year-old TikTok star, who first became famous creating dances and attempting others’ choreography on her account, was invited across the Atlantic Ocean to Prada’s show at Milan Fashion Week, according to Nylon. D’Amelio made sure to update her 7.6 million Instagram followers and 28.6 million TikTok followers on the news by sharing live updates of the event.

Not only did she sit front row at the event, but she was also seated next to well-known fashion journalist and author Derek Blasberg, who featured D’Amelio in his Instagram story as they walked into the show together.

It wouldn’t be a Charli D’Amelio public appearance without creating a few TikTok videos. The teen star danced in front of a floral wall in one video and even got three models to appear in another, strutting to a clip of Avril Lavigne’s “What the Hell.”

The international event elevates D’Amelio’s already high profile in pop culture. Milan is one of the fashion capitals of the world, and some of the top designers in the industry show off their latest creations during the shows. Prada showcased its 2020 fall collection featuring floor-length coats, sheer tulle layers with embroidered floral patterns and basketball jerseys, Vogue reported. Along with some of the top designers in the world, D’Amelio was in the presence of famous models like Kaia Gerber and Gigi Hadid.

This isn’t the first time D’Amelio has booked a sweet deal thanks to TikTok. Her viral fame not only allowed her to dance with Bebe Rexha onstage for the opener of the Jonas Brothers’ concert in New York last fall, but she got to meet Jennifer Lopez, whom she has said she idolizes.
