  • Four male airport employees lose their jobs for making and posting an online video
  • The TikTok video went viral with more than 250,000 views
  • One staff said he doesn't regret what he did

Four male contract workers at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport in California, the main commercial airport for the San Joaquin Valley and three national parks, were fired from their jobs after posting a TikTok video online that showed them clowning around at the airport premises.

The 15 second-long clip shows them dancing and goofing-off on the airport tarmac and inside the airport. It starts with one man holding up a plastic traffic cone and pretending it's a bullhorn. He exclaims: "Yo, Pierre, you wanna come on in?"

The shot then shows a baggage cart with its curtains drawn. A man pokes his head out of the curtain. Three men jump out to dance to a hip-hop tune. The guys then clown around at various spots in the airport, and end the video hip-hopping in front of a building facade with a sign that says, Welcome to Fresno.

The guys said they had 30 minutes left before calling it a day and not much else to do when they decided to make the TikTok video. They said they were canned after their video, which they uploaded January 24, got more than 250,000 views. Someone in airport management was one of those viewers.

"I don’t even understand what’s such a bad thing about what we did because we’re giving positive promotion for this company," said one of the guys to local news station KSEE. Another said he doesn't regret having done the video.

Management wasn't amused by this excuse or the video, which the guys did when they were still on company time.

“In the video, the employees’ inappropriate behavior in the work environment displays poor judgment and does not reflect the conduct expected of individuals working at FAT," said airport management in a statement.

"The company employing these individuals has taken corrective action concerning the parties involved, as well as instructed the removal of the unauthorized video from social media. FAT is working with the company to retrain its staff on appropriate behavior and to prevent these types of events in the future."
