Chicago rapper FBG Duck was shot dead Tuesday, Aug. 4, in a drive-by shooting in the city’s Gold Coast neighborhood. Two of his friends were seriously injured.

Duck, known for his 2017 hit single "Slide," and two friends were shopping in the area in the evening when two cars pulled up and four individuals got out of the vehicle and opened fire at them, Chicago Police spokesperson Tom Ahern told the New York Daily News. The suspects immediately fled the scene.

FBG Duck, whose real name is Carlton D. Weekly, was shot in the chest, the groin and the neck. The 26-year-old was rushed to Northwestern Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

"One guy pulled out a gun and started shooting at the other guy close range," a witness told ABC Chicago.

One of the injured was a 36-year-old man who was shot in the back and side. He is in serious condition at the same hospital. A 28-year-old woman suffered gunshot wounds to her hand. She was taken to St.Joseph Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

The victims were standing on the sidewalk near the Dolce and Gabbana store, the police said.

"I was standing here and saw people running in every direction trying to look for cover," local business owner Howard Gordon told ABC. "I was standing where we are standing now, and heard what I thought was a machine gun, and then a black car speeding down Oak Street going west."

Barbara Gordon, a business owner in the neighborhood, told the outlet that she counted about 17 shots.

A cyclist passing by the street captured the incidents moments after the shooting. In the video, Duck is seen face down in the street with injuries.

Police have recovered a weapon from the crime scene. No suspects have been identified at the moment. The motive behind the slaying is unclear.

Duck has more than 100,000 followers on Spotify. His brother FBG Brick was also shot and killed in 2017.
