KEY POINTS

  • Sasha Banks recently filed for trademarks that could see her launch her own merchandise
  • It is rumored to range from jewelry to clothing options to possibly her own podcast
  • WWE is rumored to have quietly lifted the ban on performers having their own revenue streams

Sasha Banks has been keeping her most ardent fans at the edge of their seats for the past couple of months as they believe that her WWE comeback is closer than ever to happening.

Last week, Banks took to social media to continue teasing her fans of "something so [expletive] crazy coming" that she has been waiting for the past six months.

Banks neglected to say anything else about what this something was, which led to fans heavily considering her to be making her in-ring return to WWE at the upcoming Survivor Series WarGames pay-per-view.

However, Pro Wrestling Insider (PW Insider) revealed that Banks had filed trademarks under the little-known Soulnado Inc. for a potential luxury jewelry line.

The trademarks that were filed are the following: "Mercedes Mone'," "Mone' Talks," "Bank Mone'" and "Statement Maker" for a certain "G & S" line of merchandise.

The merchandise is reportedly set to range from jewelry, decals, stickers, posters, collectible trading cards, and coffee mugs, to clothing options to even action figures.

Soulnado Inc., according to PW Insider and most fans' best guesses, is a play on Banks' given name of Mercedes Varnado while "Mercedes Mone'" and "Bank Mone'" sound more like brand names compared to the rest of the trademarks that she filed.

"Mone' Talks," however, is leaning closer to her having a podcast of her own and "Statement Maker" had pro wrestling fans thinking that it sounds like an in-ring finisher, but it may be more of an online shop platform for her merchandise.

Recently, Banks seemingly tweeted her thanks to the fans for supporting her and it can also be understood as her showing gratitude for the trademarks possibly being approved.

Whatever the case may be, Banks is leaning hard towards the business side in the coming months and it very well could be done under a hush-hush agreement with WWE management.

It should be noted that WWE was rumored to have quietly lifted the ban on third-party platforms which also allowed performers to have other forms of revenue and exposure aside from WWE programming.

One group that appears to have taken advantage of this easing up is DaParty – a group composed of WWE stars Xavier Woods and Tyler Breeze along with current All Elite Wrestling (AEW) talent Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro in WWE) and Adam Cole formed during the height of the pandemic under Woods' WWE-affiliated YouTube channel UpUpDownDown (UUDD)

Fans have been clamoring for a reunion of the beloved group since Cole left for AEW in September 2021 and the date has been set for Sunday, November 20 at 10:00 PM on the latter three's Twitch channels instead of the UUDD page.

Banks setting up her own business while still being rumored for a WWE return sometime soon is a win-win situation for the former women's champion and also for her most passionate fans inside and outside the wrestling ring.
