KEY POINTS

  • WWE is still very much interested in bringing Sasha Banks back into the fold`
  • Banks and Naomi have not been seen on WWE programming since their walkout
  • WWE may need to just wait things out before convincing her to return

WWE fans have not been shy to profess their newfound love for the product ever since Triple H took over as the company's chief content officer, and the biggest question of his tenure is whether former Women's Champion Sasha Banks will ever return.

While many originally saw it as a partnership that was built to last, Banks has not been seen on WWE programming since May and fans are desperate to hear any updates regarding her situation.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Banks' return is still possible though there are some complications involved.

"She is still under contract to WWE, but there is no word on when she'll return, as there were said to be hang-ups in negotiations for a new deal," Meltzer said.

The reported hang-ups during negotiations were later corroborated by Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp who announced that Banks' representatives "said no wrestling-related booking 'til January themselves" and he does not believe that there will be a resolution anytime soon.

Banks is being joined by fellow women's star Naomi in their holdout from the company after deciding to relinquish the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships due to them being "not being respected enough" as per WWE's official statement at the time.

While they had their fair share of supporters, it was later made public that not everyone was on their side, with the majority believing that the walkout was fine and somewhat justified, though to leave during the show was not.

Five-time WWE Women's Champion Mickie James voiced out her support for the pair a few days after the incident, but news later broke out that Banks had been released from the promotion which is where her current status stands.

There was hope that they would be making their return to team up alongside Bianca Belair as they take on the Bayley-led faction of Damage CTRL composed of Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky.

It would not be the case as Banks and Naomi have yet to make an appearance at all or even have their names mentioned on WWE programming.

Because of the uncertainty surrounding all parties involved, it would not be surprising to see WWE and Triple H himself acquiesce to their demands since the pair is an important staple in their women's division.

Should Banks and Naomi agree to return with WWE, it would most likely be on SmackDown since the women's roster on Raw is already loaded with talent.

There is still hope for WWE fans hoping to see Banks and Naomi again, but if Sapp were to be believed in his report, fans will need to exercise their patience a bit more.
