  • CM Punk made his triumphant return to professional wrestling on AEW Rampage
  • He hinted that Daniel Bryan is coming to AEW soon
  • Fans have noticed that CM Punk may be hinting at two other WWE stars jumping ship

CM Punk’s return to professional wrestling is the best thing to have happened in recent years.

It has been seven years since the professional wrestling world saw Punk in the squared-circle, and his promo game is still on point.

Fans have been whipped to a frenzy just by hearing Living Colour’s “Cult of Personality” blare through the speakers.

CM Punk made his first-ever appearance on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday, live on TNT, and he dropped a hint about a certain WWE underdog possibly joining the AEW roster soon.

Speaking with Tony Schiavone in the ring, “Yes!” chants broke out when Punk insisted that his return to pro wrestling was to find out whether he still had it.

“That’s someone else’s schtick and you may have to be a bit more patient,” said the ever-cheeky Punk.

CM Punk was referring to Daniel Bryan, who has reportedly signed a contract with AEW in late July and is set to appear once his 90-day no-compete clause expires.

However, Bryan is not the only WWE star that CM Punk has teased to join AEW, albeit subtly.

In the tweet below, a fan noticed that on the side of Punk’s red shoes that he wore to AEW Rampage had the initials “BW” on it–a possible reference to Bray Wyatt, who has been the victim of a series of budget cuts by WWE.

What intrigues most fans, however, are the initials “AC” written on the black pair of shoes that he wore during AEW Dynamite.

Fans immediately deduced that it was a reference to former NXT champion Adam Cole.

Cole’s possible departure from WWE has been heavily teased by AEW talents and close personal friends The Young Bucks, as well as by his longtime partner AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker.

The former NXT champion has also left possible hints about his future in WWE, particularly before NXT TakeOver 36 and during a Twitch stream.

If the rumors are true and that the trio of Cole, Wyatt and Bryan is coming to AEW, the company now boasts a fully-loaded roster of former WWE superstars such as CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Andrade El Idolo, Malakai Black, Jon Moxley and Pac.

Losing Cole will be a big blow to the WWE since he is a marquee talent that has carried the NXT brand since he first arrived in 2017 and holds the distinction of the longest singular reign as NXT Champion at 396 days.

As for Punk, he will have his first match in almost a decade as he faces Darby Allin at AEW All Out on September 5 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, live on pay-per-view.
