A loss by one of the nation’s top five teams in a conference championship game would have a major effect on the 2018-2019 College Football Playoff. That’s considered to be a long shot with Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma and Ohio State all favored to win this weekend.

But crazier things have happened, and it’s certainly not impossible for there to be a surprise in one of the upcoming title games. Which team has the best chance of pulling off an upset?

According to the latest betting odds at OddsShark, Texas is the most likely team to defeat a CFP candidate. The Longhorns are anywhere between a +250 and a +275 underdog, depending on the sportsbook, in the Big 12 Championship Game. Oklahoma has no worse than -300 odds.

Texas beat Oklahoma 48-45 on Oct. 6.

Alabama might be the best team in the country, but they are second on the list of potential upset candidates. You can find the Crimson Tide as low as a -500 favorite. Georgia has +385 odds at 5Dimes to defeat college football’s top team. A win for Georgia could potentially get them into the playoffs.

Georgia won last year’s SEC Title Game before losing to Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. The point spread for Saturday’s contest opened at 10.5 points, but Alabama is up to a 13.5-point favorite. Nick Saban’s squad has won 51 of their last 53 games.

Northwestern isn’t far behind Georgia with between +475 and +540 odds to defeat Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game. The Buckeyes can be found as -750 favorites.

It’d be stunning to see Clemson lose to Pittsburgh. With the betting line nearly up to four touchdowns, the Tigers are -5000 favorites to win the ACC Title.
