Cristiano Ronaldo trolled Manchester United’s new superstar Bruno Fernandes on social media Tuesday.

Over the weekend, Ronaldo challenged his Instagram followers to a "core crusher challenge" in Nike's "Living Room Cup" saying that he could do an impressive 142 reps in just 45 seconds. The game was to touch your toes as many times as possible while lying flat on your back.

The Nike Living Room Cup challenge is an idea being promoted by sports stars in order to encourage exercising indoors during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

One of Ronaldo’s 211 million followers on Instagram is Fernandes, who took the challenge and revealed on his Instagram account that he managed 117 reps in his attempt. “'#NikeLivingRoomCup - Week One. 117 Abs in 45 seconds. Not bad for a Sunday,” the midfielder wrote in an Instagram post where he also shared the video of him doing the reps.

However, Fernandes failed to impress his Portuguese skipper, who reacted to the same through an Instagram story. Hilariously mocking the Man Utd player, Ronaldo asked Fernandes to “train your arms instead!”

The 25-year-old midfielder, who joined The Red Devils this January, has announced his arrival at Old Trafford in style having netted twice already in as many as five appearances. The youngster has never hesitated to accept that Ronaldo has been his idol during his growing up days, like any other budding soccer player in Portugal.

In fact, Fernandes is clearly following Ronaldo’s footsteps because just like Ronaldo had done, even Fernandes has moved to Man Utd from Sporting Lisbon.

As of now, all the soccer leagues around the world have been suspended due to the pandemic virus. Premier League’s table-toppers Liverpool FC are just two wins away from winning their first league title in as many as 30 years, while Man Utd are placed fifth, three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
