Despite several cast changes that took place in Season 12, the “Criminal Minds” actors are one big, happy family. The stars often hang out together, goof around on set and have fun while shooting for long hours.

Kirsten Vangsness, who plays tech genius Penelope Garcia on the CBS series, frequently posts photos of the fun the cast and crew have behind-the-scenes on her Instagram account. A fairly recent photo, for instance, shows her and co-stars Matthew Gray Gubler and Adam Rodriguez picking up Paget Brewster. Fun times indeed.

Even Aisha Tyler, who plays profiler Dr. Tara Lewis on the long-running procedural, is quick to update fans on what goes on set. Recently, all the women in the “Criminal Minds” cast shared a hot tub in order bond and celebrate the completion of filming Season 12.

For instance, Rodriguez, who plays FBI Agent Luke Alvez, went to see and a support Vangsness’ play “Mess” which she wrote and starred in. Damon Gupton, who plays new character Stephen Walker, even played the trombone in her play.

The “Criminal Minds” cast not only have fun with each other on set, but they also share entertaining photos of the set. Gubler, who plays Dr. Spencer Reid, took a quick snap of himself in jail. His character is currently in prison for allegedly murdering a doctor in Mexico.

Gubler also posted a photo of him sleeping on the tables of the prison. Although his prison mates are certainly scary in “Criminal Minds” Season 12, off-camera they’re just a bunch of fun actors.

“Criminal Minds” will return on April 26 with the final three episodes of the current season. Reid’s prison storyline is expected to wrap up in the season finale. The show has already been renewed for a thirteenth season.
