KEY POINTS

  • Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. already has almost 1 million followers on Instagram
  • Cristiano Jr. could become even more famous than his dad
  • Cristiano Jr. once scored more than twice as his father's tally

Cristiano Ronaldo’s son, Cristiano Jr., is already one of the most famous kids in the world, but he could become even more famous than his dad.

Undeniably, Ronaldo’s charisma has reflected through his social media followers. Garnering over 400 million followers across all platforms, Ronaldo is the most followed athlete on social media. While this category doesn’t show up in the stats, this unanimously puts CR7 on top of his soccer nemesis, Lionel Messi, and all his other peers from other leagues.

To put this into context, 196 million people follow the Portuguese star via Instagram. What’s even more surprising is that this figure is the combined population of France, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Belgium or, in simpler terms, 2.5% of Earth’s total population.

However, Ronaldo’s eldest child, Cristiano Jr., has just made a case for being even more famous than his legendary father. The young Ronaldo is a talented soccer player who currently plays for Juventus’ youth team.

Having been privileged to have the luxury of training with a five-time Ballon d’Or winner in his back garden, Cristiano Jr. is bound to also be a well-rounded player when he grows up.

But the most recent headline the 9-year-old made was already coming close to 1 million followers on the photo-sharing platform Instagram less than 24 hours upon signing up. His dad still holds the record as the most followed person on the said platform (205 million followers). However, Cristiano Jr.’s insane number of followers could put him on top of his father in the future. In fact, by the time this article has been published, he may have already broken the one million-mark.

For the record, if Cristiano Jr. bizarrely achieves 1 million followers a day, he’ll be closing in on his dad’s Instagram follower tally before the end of the year, Give Me Sport reported.

Among Ronaldo’s 4 beautiful children, Cristiano Jr is the one who is following his footsteps. At a young age, he has already made plenty of headlines in recent years for his performances at youth level. The young Ronaldo has been busy bagging goals for Juventus’ Under-9s team. He is also scoring plenty of goals and contagiously impressing in various tournaments.

In fact, Cristiano Jr. has once scored almost twice as many goals for Juventus as his dad has managed since they moved to Italy in 2018. (58 goals and 18 assists in just 28 games).
