Lionel Messi revealed that his eldest son Thiago is a huge Cristiano Ronaldo fan.

For over a decade now, the world has witnessed how passionate Messi has been about soccer. And apparently, his passion runs in the family as his eldest son Thiago is already following his footsteps at an early age.

Thiago has been watching his legendary dad’s games regularly and according to Messi, Thiago understands more about soccer because he is older and talks about the sport everytime. In fact, he even receives criticism from Thiago after bad performances.

“Yes, I have already received a couple of criticisms! He follows Barcelona in La Liga and the Champions League,” Messi said about Thiago.

Messi's two eldest kids like to join him at training sessions. However, it was Thiago who is more involved in everything related to soccer.

During a recent interview with Mundo Deportivo, the six-time Ballon d’Or winner said that Thiago is now learning a lot about other players as well. In fact, Messi even revealed that his protégé is a huge fan of Neymar and his long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo, The Sun reported.

"He talks a lot about Luis [Suarez], with whom we have the best relationship, about [Antoine] Griezmann and Arturo [Vidal] since the first day because of his hair and all that. Also about people from outside, [Kylian] Mbappe, Cristiano [Ronaldo], Neymar,” Messi revealed.

"Thiago knows them all, he asks questions and likes it a lot," Messi added.

Among Messi’s three boys, Thiago, who just turned 12, is the one who seems to have inherited his goalscoring skills.

One of his latest goals went viral on social media as it shows the young Messi scoring a goal for Barcelona’s youth team in an impressive pace and control.

Ronaldo also has a son who is also making a case as a future soccer superstar. Cristiano Jr. has made plenty of headlines in recent years for his performances at youth level.

The young Ronaldo has been busy bagging goals for Juventus’ Under-9s team. He is also scoring plenty of goals and contagiously impressing in various tournaments.

Surprisingly, Cristiano Jr. has scored almost twice as many goals for Juventus as his dad has managed since they moved to Italy in 2018.

Last December, the young Ronaldo further his feat by leading the team in copping the Juventus U9's "Cavour Trophy" title . And after scoring three goals throughout the tournament, Cristiano Jr was named the best striker of the competition.
