Cristiano Ronaldo is considered one of the greatest athletes of all time. His record and statistical data speak of his success in his sport, but the Portuguese soccer great has also become an image of fitness and health that fixed his ascendancy even outside the pitch.

The Sun broke down Ronaldo’s routine that propelled the Juventus star to rack up numbers like as if he was still in his heyday at age 34.

Ronaldo signed with the Italian club for a four-year deal worth £99-million in 2018 and scored a total of 31 goals in 47 games across all competitions in his first year with the team, and has netted a total of 16 goals in 23 games this season.

But as they say, the real struggle happens behind the scenes, and Ronaldo is no exception to it. From his strict diet and exercise, as well as monitoring his sleep, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has it all tracked.

"Proper sleep is really important for getting the most out of training,” the Sun quoted Ronaldo about his discipline on getting proper rest. “I go to bed early and get up early, especially before matches. Sleep helps muscles recover which is really important."

As to his diet, he allows himself to eat six times a day with varied selections from fish, greens, chicken and other low-carb products.

According to the article, Ronaldo's favorites are swordfish, tuna, and braised cod while he considers chicken as his “magical” food.

The UEFA Champions League goals leader has also been alcohol-free since 2005.

The meal regimen is unparalleled and his workout routine puts him at his best possible condition for every run at the field. But for Ronaldo, the secret to having the desired fitness is living a stress-free life.

"Training and physical sessions are most important, but living a relaxed lifestyle helps you to be the best you can be, physically and mentally,” he said. "I spend my free time with family and friends, which keeps me relaxed and in a positive mindset."
