  • Cristiano Ronaldo has one more year left on his Man Utd deal
  • He has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford
  • One of the clubs interested in signing Ronaldo is Chelsea

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants Manchester United to make three-four big signings this summer amid his links with Chelsea.

Ronaldo has a year left on his current contract with Manchester United. While the club has made it clear that they want Ronaldo to remain at Old Trafford for the 2022-23 campaign, the Portuguese forward wants to see more ambition in their summer transfer window, reported CaughtOffSide.

Ronaldo wants Manchester United to make a few top signings, especially after seeing Premier League rivals Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham have strengthened so far.

"Cristiano Ronaldo wants to see more ambition from Man United. He didn't mention specific signing names, but he believes that having reinforced Man City, Liverpool but also Arsenal and Tottenham with top-level players, Man United need at least 3-4 important players as soon as possible," Fabrizio Romano, who has a credible record in European soccer, told CaughtOffSide.

"Ronaldo appreciates Ten Hag but he believes the problem is the level of the team," the Italian journalist added.

It has been reported that Manchester United are trying to land a few top players, including FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong and Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.

The Red Devils not only failed to win a trophy last season but also did not finish in the top four of the 2021-22 Premier League, meaning they did not secure a Champions League slot for the upcoming term.

Ronaldo, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, has reportedly asked Manchester United to allow him to depart if a satisfactory offer arrives.

Despite Ronaldo's desire to leave, the Old Trafford club has made it clear to the player that he must be on their pre-season tour this week, Sky Sports reported.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also after Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling as they are looking to replace Romelu Lukaku, who has left on loan to Inter Milan. Between Ronaldo and Sterling, Chelsea will no doubt consider the 27-year-old Englishman as a better long-term option because of his age.
