Dak Prescott did some light throwing in Friday’s practice after being limited in each of the previous two days. The Dallas Cowboys are remaining cautious with the quarterback as he deals with a shoulder injury ahead of their biggest game in the 2019 NFL season.

Prescott is nursing a sprained AC joint that head coach Jason Garrett told reporters Wednesday made it “hard for him to function.” Garrett said Friday that Prescott would still be limited as the team prepares for Sunday’s tilt with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Even though it’s clear the signal caller is not close to being 100% healthy, there isn’t a concern that he won’t be under center in Dallas’ Week 16 contest.

“I'm getting better,” Prescott said Thursday, via the team’s official website. “The mobility and function is all improving. I'll be good to go on Sunday.”

Prescott got hurt early in the Cowboys’ Week 15 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. It didn’t stop him from completing 65.2 percent of his passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns in a dominant 44-21 victory.

The win kept Dallas atop the NFC East alongside Philadelphia. Both teams own a .500 record, and the winner of Sunday’s meeting at Lincoln Financial Field will take control of the division.

The Cowboys would clinch their second straight NFC East championship with a victory because they own the tiebreaker. If the Eagles win, they can clinch the division title in Week 17 with a victory over the New York Giants or a Dallas loss. The Cowboys host the Washington Redskins in the season finale.

Philadelphia lost in Dallas 37-10 in Week 7.

The NFC East rivals have both been eliminated from wild-card contention. The Cowboys and Eagles can only make the playoffs by winning the division.
