The Dallas Cowboys are still looking to improve their defensive line before the 2019 NFL Draft. The organization is considering multiple options, weighing a possible trade and a potential signing in free agency.

Dallas continues to pursue a trade for defensive end Robert Quinn. The veteran is reportedly scheduled to visit the New Orleans Saints Monday after meeting with the Cowboys last week. The Miami Dolphins are looking to trade Quinn, who is expected to sign an extension with whatever team acquires him.

The Cowboys are also interested in Malik McDowell. The defensive tackle hasn’t played a down in the NFL since being drafted in the second round by the Seattle Seahawks in 2017. Agent Drew Rosenhaus said McDowell has been cleared by doctors to play football after he suffered injuries from an ATV accident that derailed his career.

Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence will make more than $20 million for the 2019 season after being hit with Dallas’ franchise tag. The two sides were unable to come to terms on a long-term contract.

Defensive end Randy Gregory was suspended indefinitely last month for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. Gregory had six sacks in 14 games last season for the Cowboys.

Quinn had 6.5 sacks for the Dolphins in 2018 and 8.5 sacks for the Los Angeles Rams in 2017.
