The Dallas Cowboys were embarrassed on national TV for the second straight week, this time losing to the Chicago Bears on “Thursday Night Football.” It marked the seventh loss in 10 games for the defending NFC East champions, and they’ve fallen below .500 for the first time in the 2019 NFL season.

Jason Garrett’s exit from Dallas feels inevitable. Once considered to be a Super Bowl contender, the Cowboys are one of the league’s most disappointing teams. The Week 14 loss now gives Dallas a 0-6 record against winning teams.

Despite all that, the Cowboys are still expected to make the playoffs, according to the latest betting odds.

FanDuel Sportsbook gives Dallas -150 odds to win the NFC East. The Cowboys have a half-game lead over the Philadelphia Eagles in the division, which features four teams with losing records.

Even if the Eagles beat the New York Giants on “Monday Night Football,” the Cowboys will remain in first place because of the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Philadelphia has +125 odds to win the NFC East.

The Week 16 matchup between the Cowboys and Eagles could ultimately decide the division winner. Philadelphia now controls its own playoff destiny. The Eagles will win the division if they beat the Giants (twice), Cowboys and Washington Redskins in their four remaining games.

A weak schedule doesn’t mean Philadelphia will finish the season strong. The Eagles are coming off a Week 13 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Philadelphia has suffered three defeats at the hands of teams that enter Week 14 with four wins or fewer this season.

The Cowboys will host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 15 before visiting Philadelphia in Week 16. A matchup at home against Washington will end Dallas’ regular season.

A wild-card berth is out of the question for any NFC East team. The Minnesota Vikings are two games ahead of the Cowboys for the No.6 seed in the conference with the head-to-head tiebreaker over both Dallas and Philadelphia.
