Living on the dance floor apparently has its perks. For the first time in its three-year run, Lifetime’s hit reality-TV series “Dance Moms” has been nominated for a Kids' Choice Award.

“Dance Moms,” which is currently in its fifth season on Lifetime, was recently nominated in the favorite reality show category ahead of Nickelodeon's 2015 awards ceremony. Other shows included in the category are NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior,” the Food Network’s “Cupcake War,” Fox’s “MasterChef Junior,” and two ABC series, “Shark Tank” and “Wipeout.”

Other than “Dance Moms,” “MasterChef Junior," a reality cooking competition which pits 16 young home cooks against one another in a series of challenges, is the only other nominated show that features kids.

In recent days, the cast of “Dance Moms” has started touting their nomination on social media.

While this is “Dance Moms” first Kids' Choice Awards nomination, the cast isn’t new to the awards show scene. The program has secured consecutive Teen Choice Awards nominations, but no wins, in the choice TV: reality show category since 2012. Abby Lee Miller was also nominated by the Teen Choice Awards in the choice TV: female reality/variety star category in 2013 and 2014, according to IMDB.

So how do you vote for “Dance Moms” to win the 2015 Kids' Choice Award for favorite reality show? Start by visiting Nick.com. Without creating an account, you will be able to vote for “Dance Moms" in the Kids' Choice Awards section of the website. However, in order to do so you will first need to vote for several other categories, including favorite TV actress, favorite book, most addicting game and more. When the favorite reality show category appears, simply click “Dance Moms” and you have officially voted. It is important to note that the winners are determined based on “voter preferences” and “other considerations,” according to the Kids' Choice Awards site.

The results will be announced during the Kids' Choice Awards next month. The show airs Saturday, March 28 on Nickelodeon. New episodes of “Dance Moms” premiere on Lifetime Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST.
