A fan favorite is returning to “Days of Our Lives” soon! Alison Sweeney’s character Sami Brady is heading back to Salem for several weeks later this year on NBC.

Soap Opera Digest revealed Monday that the “Biggest Loser” host will be returning to her soap opera roots. Sweeney told the outlet that the timing just worked out perfectly to reprise her character.

“From my end, it takes a little bit of logistics with projects I’m working on,” she told the magazine, which hits newsstands Friday. “And unfortunately, this year’s been hard for me because of my knee injury, so I had to push some stuff back. So, I figured out a schedule, blocked out some time that I had available and we figured it out! I’ll be shooting in Salem in May and June.”

According to Parade, Sweeney’s wound was a torn ACL. She sustained the injury on a ski trip, and it resulted in a surgery, having to wear a leg cast and months of physical therapy. However, it appears she is back and ready to get back in front of the camera again.

Sweeney, 40, seems pumped to be reprising the role that launched her career. “I’m really, really excited to be back in Salem,” she added in an Instagram video.

Sami left “Days of Our Lives” in October 2014 when she left Salem for Hollywood. Sweeney, however, made it clear that she didn’t want to leave forever. This isn’t even her first time returning. The actress, who started on the soap in 1993, also made a brief return for about a month around the 50th anniversary of “Days.”

Since leaving the NBC soap, Sweeney has starred in and produced Hallmark’s “Murder She Baked” franchise. She also directed a few episodes of “General Hospital.”

Sweeney’s episodes of “Days of Our Lives” will air in the fall.
