Her mother was stunned when she learned she had taken an earlier flight home from South Africa but hadn’t yet turned up in Salem. Now, as Hope frantically tries to search for Ciara, the truth will come out about where she is—and who has taken her captive on the Friday, Feb. 1 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Ciara (Victoria Konefal) is currently in a secluded cabin once again, tied to a bed with a blindfold on and gag in her mouth, after someone snatched her and brought her there. She can’t access her phone either, which means the calls from Hope (Kristian Alfonso) to see where she is are being ignored. Now, the race is on to see who took her on the NBC soap—and why.

Naturally, Hope’s first instinct is going to be to suspect Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), Ciara’s now ex-boyfriend who was previously known as the red necktie killer. Hope has been convinced since his return to Salem that he was the one who tried to kill Ciara in the cabin fire she was caught in over the summer but has been unable to prove it. Now, with him also beginning to lose control because he also has been unable to reach her, he will become the prime suspect.

Of course, Ben wouldn’t do anything to hurt Ciara intentionally, and though he admitted to Marlena (Deidre Hall) he has missed a few doses of his medication to keep him sane, it’s unlikely he has gotten so far off track that he committed a crime against the woman he loves. However, the person connected to the kidnapping could still be someone with close ties to him.

Ben’s sister Jordan (Chrishell Stause Hartley) left Salem before his turn as a serial killer and hasn’t been seen since. However, if she has since come back to town and is either determined to protect people from who her brother became when she left or is also losing control of her own mind, she could be the very same person who is behind the mysterious kidnapping.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
