Derek Hough, Kate Hudson Dating Rumors 2014: They ‘Were Totally Kissing’

Rumors swirled that “Dancing With the Stars” pro Derek Hough was in a relationship “Vampire Diaries” star Nina Dobrev again recently, but the rumor mill churned out a new one Wednesday. The Emmy winner is apparently getting cozy with Oscar-nominated actress Kate Hudson after she split from Muse rocker Matt Bellamy, according to reports.

The “Almost Famous” star, 35, split from her fiancé Monday, but apparently broke off their engagement prior to the announcement. "Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now,” Bellamy’s rep told E! News. “Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents." The couple has a 3-year-old son, Bingham, and Hudson also has a son, Ryder, with ex-husband Chris Robinson.

Now that her 4-year relationship with the Muse frontman is officially caput, the actress reportedly couldn’t wait to get her lips on Hough. They "were totally kissing," an insider told Us Weekly about Hough, 29, and Hudson. "So scandalous!" The two allegedly were caught smooching at the Los Angeles restaurant Nice Guy on Friday.

Even though Hudson was tied to Hough practically as soon as her breakup from Bellamy was announced, her ex-fiancé did not have anything negative to say. “We're both very happy, it's for the best,” he tweeted Tuesday. “Thanks for your kind words.”

The amicable split seems to ring true for Hudson, too. "She says that Matt's a really great guy, but they're no longer together," an insider told Us Weekly. The split "wasn't anything big and emotional."

Hudson gushed to Shape magazine in 2013 about dancing with Hough. "My heart is really in contemporary jazz, but lately I've been ballroom dancing with Derek Hough," she said, according to E! News. "It's been a real blast." The two also spent time together at her 2014 Halloween party, which Bellamy attended, E! News wrote in a different story.

Neither Hudson nor Hough have commented on the dating rumors.
