The NBA will resume the current postseason after teams protested the tragic shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Los Angeles Clippers’ Doc Rivers reveals that despite the tense situation inside the bubble, his players are ready for the postseason’s resumption.

"NBA playoff games for today will not be played as scheduled. We are hopeful to resume games either Friday or Saturday,” said NBA Executive Vice President Mike Bass, by way of CBS Sports.

The severity of the situation was a difficult predicament for the players as the NBA has been vocal in the fight against social injustice. When asked if Rivers’ players are ready to resume in the playoffs, he said that his players are prepared to step foot on the court.

"They are really looking forward to it. Yesterday was a very difficult day though. Like their emotions were all over the place,” Rivers said by way of ESPN.

This comes after the players expressed their anger over the current events and want to use their platform to send a message regarding this issue.

"They thought it was over. It was just a really tough day for all of them," Rivers added.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ act of protest featured the number one team in the league not play Game five of their first-round series against the Orlando Magic.

"It woke me up quite a bit to some of the things that I have missed since being in this bubble," Rivers shared.

The veteran coach added that life in the bubble has made everyone a bit more emotional, considering being together every day while being away from their families.

"You forget that being in the bubble is hard. And even some of that came up. I knew it was hard but listening to some of these guys speak, just mental awareness, we got to be a little sharper on that as well," Rivers concluded.

The league is currently discussing their next steps regarding this situation and what they can do moving forward.
