Amber Portwood reveals in the “Teen Mom OG” Season 6 trailer that she's fighting for joint custody of her daughter Leah. The MTV docuseries is shot months in advance, leaving many fans wondering what Amber's current custody situation is. Ahead of the 2016 "Teen Mom OG" premiere Monday night, take a closer look at the custody situation between Amber and her ex, Gary Shirley.

While several outlets have recently reported that Amber, 25, has 50/50 custody of Leah, 7, a report from the Ashley's Reality Roundup says that’s not the case. According to the site, court documents reveal that Amber and Gary, 29, are not due in court to discuss Leah's custody until Jan. 15. The site found that Amber, who gave Gary full custody of their daughter in 2012 ahead of serving her five-year prison sentence, filed a motion to change Leah's custody situation in August 2015.

While the “Teen Mom” duo has their court date ahead of them, Amber told OKMagazine.com last month that she and Gary have already come to a decision about Leah’s future. “I’m very happy that Gary and I are going to share joint custody of Leah,” she said. “This is something I’ve been waiting for.”

Amber's custody battle with Gary will be a big storyline in the coming season of “Teen Mom OG.” In the trailer, posted below, Amber can be seen crying over the custody battle. In a second trailer, Gary voices his concern over his daughter living with Amber. “Leah needs to be in a steady, stable home,” he says. A later clip shows him speaking to a lawyer regarding Amber's fiancé Matt Baier’s situation. “Her fiancé has seven kids,” he says. “She don’t even know about this.”

“Teen Mom OG” fans can catch up with Amber and her castmates — Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Farrah Abraham — when Season 6 premieres Monday at 10 p.m. EST on MTV.
