  • Drake called Kylie Jenner his "side piece" in an unreleased song
  • Drake said he didnt mean to disrespect anyone
  • The two were romatically linked last year

Drake and Kylie Jenner first sparked romance rumors last year after news circulated that the makeup mogul and her baby daddy Travis Scott had called it quits. Recently, the artist’s collaboration with Future leaked, and the song referred to the reality star as a “side piece.”

On Wednesday (May 20), Drake took to Instagram to tease unreleased songs, including one that is filled with mentions of Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. Kylie’s name was also involved in the song, and although three of them were mentioned, people singled out the track’s treatment of the youngest self-made billionaire because she was romantically linked to the “Hotline Bling” hitmaker.

"Yeah, I'm a hater to society / Real s—, Kylie Jenner, that's a side piece / Yeah, I got 20 motherf——' Kylies," the song goes.

TMZ pointed out that the song had been previewed in the past, but it was Future who rapped the Kylie part. For his part, Drake apologized moments after learning that his actions created a controversy.

In Instagram Stories, Drake said that the song shouldn’t have been played during the session and that he didn’t mean to disrespect anyone. He went on to apologize and explain that it leaked three years ago but it wasn’t released.

“Last thing I'd want to do is wake up having any friends of mine feeling disrespected so I just had to stay that to start off the day,” Drake said.

Drake has been rubbing elbows with the Kardashian-Jenner clan, so much so that he gets invited to exclusive parties thrown by the controversial family. He is also friends with Kylie’s ex-boyfriend, Scott, and even collaborated with him for “Sicko Mode.”

Last year, Drake and Kylie were rumored to be dating a month after the latter revealed that she and the father of her Stormi broke up. Multiple People sources said that the pair had been hanging out occasionally while others claimed that they were just friends.

The rumors eventually died down without Drake or Kylie ever revealing the real score between them. The voluptuous star had since been spotted with Scott, igniting reconciliation rumors.
