Professional wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson recalled his wrestling days as he shared a clip on Instagram from "Dark Side Of The Ring" television series.

The television series is based on true stories and presented in a documentary format. The series explores the darkest stories from the '90s wrestling era.

"I watched an early cut of this @darksideofthering episode that airs TONIGHT on @vicetv. It’s a very hard watch but man it’s an important one," the 49-year-old actor captioned the post.

The show's "In the Shadow of Grizzly Smith" episode tells viewers about the controversial story of Grizzly Smith. He was a veteran wrestler and was also the father of WWE Hall of Fame Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Sam Houston, and former WWE Women’s Champion Rockin’ Robin.

Grizzly died in 2010 at the age of 77.

In the episode, Jake “The Snake” Roberts and his siblings talk about their life with “the famed, troubled, and abusive figure.”

The Rock, in his Instagram post, praised the Smith family and noted how brave they are to speak about their pain.

"I applaud the Smith family - Jake, Robin, Mike (Sam) - for having the bravery to speak out on the deep pain they experienced as kids - and the motivation to help those who’ve experienced that level of trauma as well," he said.

"Thanks to my good friends at @vicetv for sending me season3 of DSOTR... And big respect to my squared circle brother, Jake Roberts for his sobriety going on many years now," Johnson said.

"I’ll always root for my wrestling family/community to overcome challenging odds and win," he concluded. The episode airs on Vice TV at 9:00 p.m. ET.

The official handle of the "Dark Side Of The Ring" commented on the clip and appreciated Johnson for sharing his thoughts. "Thank you so much @therock," it stated. "We deeply appreciate you sharing your thoughts on tonight’s episode and for your love and support of the Smith family."

The first season aired on April 10, 2019, and had only six episodes. The second season of the show was released on March 24, 2020, with 10 episodes. The third and current season of the show dropped on May 6 with 14 episodes.

Johnson is currently working on his first superhero movie, "Black Adam" for DC Extended Universe. The actor will be soon seen in "Jungle Cruise," which is slated to release on July 22, 2021. He will also feature in "Fast and Furious 10" and "DC's League of Super-Pets." Both the movies are slated to release in 2022.
