KEY POINTS

  • Greyoll's Roar drops from the giant dragon in front of Fort Faroth, Caelid
  • The incantation must be unlocked in Cathedrals of Dragon Communion
  • The Dragon Communion Seal can increase the potency of Greyoll's Roar

Greyoll’s Roar is one of the three legendary incantations in “Elden Ring.” But unlike the other two, it is a Dragon Communion Incantation. As such, it works a little bit differently compared to others.

Players can find this incantation by slaying Greyoll, the great gray dragon in Caelid at the aptly-named Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow. From Limgrave, follow the main highway before heading northeast. Players will eventually reach the Dragonbarrow. Greyoll’s gigantic wings should be visible from a distance.

Alternatively, players can teleport to the Bestial Sanctum via a portal. Head to the Third Church of Marika in the Mistwood region of Limgrave and search the bushes north of the ruined church to find and interact with the portal. Doing so will send players straight to the north-most tip of Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow.

Tag the Site of Grace inside the Bestial Sanctum and sneak past the large gargoyle guarding the stairs. Head south, past the bridge, and ride through the eastern cliffsides to find Fort Faroth. Activate the fort’s Site of Grace, then head directly south to find Greyoll stuck in the ground.

The dragon is more of a destructible set piece than an actual boss enemy. It has no attacks, but it will summon other dragons when threatened. Players can simply attack its tail near the Site of Grace with a strong bleed weapon until the dragon dies.

Dual-wielding daggers that deal bleed damage may be the fastest way to finish off Greyoll. However, any other weapon will do fine as long as it can cause Blood Loss procs.

Killing Greyoll will reward players with the right to use the legendary incantation. Head to any Cathedral of Dragon Communion and unlock Greyoll’s Roar using a Dragon Heart. It is worth noting that killing Greyoll will also reward players with tens of thousands of Runes, making it a decent way to earn some levels early on in the game.

Greyoll’s Roar costs a whopping 75 FP to use despite its relatively low 28 FAI and 14 ARC requirement. Players can use the Dragon Communion Seal to increase this and other Dragon-related incantations.
