  • "The Elder Scrolls 6" is one of the highly anticipated titles from Bethesda
  • So far, Bethesda has not revealed the specific release date of the game
  • Here are some of the official details about "The Elder Scrolls 6"

A lot of things have happened since Bethesda announced "The Elder Scrolls 6" at the E3 almost three years ago. So far, the gaming studio has not yet revealed the specific release date of the highly anticipated sequel. Now here are some official details about "The Elder Scrolls 6," coming directly from the game's head honcho.

In a November 2020 interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Bethesda's Todd Howard revealed that the team has spent a considerable amount of time updating Creation Engine. While the executive admitted that this has pushed back the production, it's necessary to create the game that they have in mind.

"It's taken us longer than we would have liked, but it's going to power everything we're doing with 'Starfield' and 'Elder Scrolls VI'. When people see the results, they'll hopefully be as happy as we are with what's on the screen and also how we can go about making our games."

In another interview with The Guardian in December 2020, Howard hinted at his desire to see "more reactivity [in game worlds], more systems clashing together that players can express themselves with. I think chasing scale for scale's sake is not always the best goal." Although the executive did not directly refer to "The Elder Scrolls 6," it is safe to assume that the game would feature an immersive, impressive and reactive open-world.

As for the game's release date, Howard stated that as much as possible, they like to "be able to show what the final product feels like and looks like when we're closer to release so that we're 100% confident in 'Here it is, here's what it does and here's when you can play it." Howard previously said that the industry would be hearing more about "The Elder Scrolls 6" after the release of "Starfield."

So far, rumors have it that "Starfield" might see a delayed release from the anticipated late 2021 to probably early 2022. This means that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is still a few years away. There have been rumors that since Microsoft acquired ZeniMax, Bethesda's mother studio, the game might be exclusive to the Xbox gaming system. However, as of this writing, nothing is confirmed yet about the game's release platform.
