Trust Tesla CEO Elon Musk to keep the electricity surging about Tesla's plans to take ensure its dominance of the U.S. electric vehicle (EV) market. Tesla currently commands some 80 percent of this lucrative market.

On the other hand, deep-pocketed foes such as the Ford Motor Company and General Motors plan to start eating part of Tesla's lunch starting 2020 by introducing their own EVs. Formidable European marques such as Porsche, Volkswagen and BMW will also start getting their EV offerings to market starting next year. But these people are all thinking along the same lines, that is, they plan to start with a few models first to get a feel for the Tesla-dominated market.

On the other hand, Tesla now has sportscars, sedans, a crossover SUV, a truck or semi, Cybertruck (a light truck) and an electric Tesla Cyberquad ATV revealed the same time Cybertruck exploded onto the public's consciousness on Nov 21.

On Sunday, Musk revealed one more addition to the growing Tesla EV family -- an electric dirt bike. That's a wow!

"We’ll aim to have it come out same time as truck. Two seater electric ATV designed to work with Cybertruck will be fun! Electric dirt bikes would be cool too," tweeted Musk.

Obviously, the good news is dirt bikes are a go. However, Musk revealed the one EV Tesla will not be dipping its toes into -- road bikes. And for good reason.

"We won’t do road bikes, as too dangerous. I was hit by a truck & almost died on one when I was 17."

Sorry, no heavy road bikes for now, but Musk has been known to change his mind based on market realities.

Because this dirt bike reveal only occurred yesterday, details are non-existence. But, if the past be a guide, what will follow is a drip, drip of legit info and rumors meant to stoke our appetite for the first Tesla dirt motorcycle.

Because it's electric, this Tesla bike won't roar but will wheeze through BMX dirt tracks.

The revelation there "won't" be a road bike because Musk was almost killed driving one as a teen might be a long-delayed case of PTSD. You won't forget a road accident that almost kills you and Musk's memory still looks scarred from this close encounter with the afterlife.
