  • Sancho reportedly prefers Liverpool over Man Utd
  • Dortmund recently rejected Man Utd's bid of $114 million for Sancho
  • Sancho scored 20 goals in 44 games this season

Jadon Sancho, who is Manchester United’s top target, prefers a move to Liverpool FC this summer, at least one report has said.

Several reports offer different angles to Sancho’s 'transfer saga' in the ongoing transfer market. Man Utd were asked to qualify for next season’s Champions League to make a bid for the 20-year-old who is on the English national team. Now that Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s side has claimed the Champions League spot for the 2020-21 season, it is understood that they have officially made an offer to Dortmund for Sancho.

It was earlier reported that Dortmund rejected Man Utd’s initial bid of $114 million as the German side is not looking to sell its prized player for anything less than $140 million.

After a report in The Independent that the Bundesliga side agreed on Man Utd’s initial fee of $78 million, which could rise to $130 million, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc rubbished the "rumors" and asked everyone to "stick to the facts."

"Jadon is an outstanding footballer with a quota that I have never seen at this age. I think it would even stand up to being one of the largest in the industry if you look at its age. I would be happy if he would still play with us this season. And that's the current state of affairs. First of all, we have to stick to the facts -- and they are so, that we still have a contract with him until 2022, " Zorc was reported as saying by the soccer website Goal.

But Sancho would prefer a move to Liverpool instead of Man Utd after Jurgen Klopp’s side won the 2019-20 Premier League, said German soccer website Kicker. The report further claimed that Sancho believes that he’ll have a better chance of winning silverware with the Anfield side, considering Klopp and Co. are the current English, European and world champions.

Sancho, who moved from Manchester City to Dortmund in 2017 for a mere $10 million fee, has been a key part of the current Dortmund squad over the last two seasons. He netted 13 goals in the 2018-19 campaign before he took his game to the next level in the 2019-20 season. He scored 20 goals in 44 matches across all competitions for Dortmund.
