Sports' elite stripped down for the 2012 ESPN Body Issue, which will be released on newsstands Friday, July 13 and online on Wednesday featuring 27 athletes for the fourth annual edition.

Some of the athletes posing in nude photos for the magazine include Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots, Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays, Abby Wambach of the Women's National Soccer Team and Tyson Chandler of the New York Knicks, who is featured on the cover.

It was definitely something I haven't done before, 29-year-old Chandler told the New York Daily News. I'm sure I'll get teased when it comes out.

Olympic athletes, who will compete just two weeks after the issue is released on Friday, will also be featured in the photos spread, like Ashton Eaton and Carmelita Jeter.

ESPN released the full list of names on Monday along with the cover, featuring Chandler naked aside from countless tattoos holding a ball. The magazine calls the annual issue an opportunity to unapologetically stand in awe of the athletes who've pushed their physiques to profound frontiers.
