Evan Rachel Wood and British actor Jamie Bell were married on Tuesday in an intimate ceremony in California, confirmed a rep for the actress to People.

"The bride wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera," said Wood’s rep. "It was a small ceremony with close family and friends."

Wood, 25, and Bell, 26, first dated in 2005, after meeting on the set of a Green Day music video for the band’s song “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” but were broken up for several years. Wood then embarked on a much-publicized romance with shock rocker Marilyn Manson, with whom she was briefly engaged, but the couple split in 2010, and Bell and Wood resumed dating.

Both Bell and Wood rose to fame during their childhoods, and have beaten the odds by sustaining their careers in adulthood. Bell earned his breakout role in the 2000 British drama “Billy Elliot,” where he played the title character, an 11-year old boy from a working class family who discovers a talent for ballet. More recently, he has starred in films like “Jane Eyre,” “Rin Tin Tin,” and “Man On a Ledge.”

Wood also garnered attention at a young age for her mature performance in the dark drama “Thirteen,” for which she earned a Golden Globe nomination. In “Thirteen,” Wood starred as a precocious, straight-A student whose friendship with popular bad girl, Evie, introduces her to sex and drugs. The drama was based on the semi-autobiographical experiences of Nikki Reed, who starred as Evie in the film.

Wood has since acted in films like “Across the Universe,” “The Wrestler,” and “The Ides of March,” as well as had a returning role in the HBO drama “True Blood.” She recently received Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for her supporting role in the HBO miniseries “Mildred Pierce.”

On Wednesday, Wood tweeted to fans, “Words cannot describe the happiness i am feeling. Overwhelming. She later added, “Song of the day ‘(today i met) the boy i'm gonna marry’#darlenelove.”

She later retweeted a message from her “Ides of March” co-star Max Minghella. “Yesterday I got to see my best friend exchange vows with the love of his life. Still coming down from high…#TrueRomance” wrote Minghella.
