‘The Flight Attendant’ Season 2: Sharon Stone To Play Kaley Cuoco’s On-Screen Mom

Sharon Stone has landed a role on HBO Max’s “The Flight Attendant” ahead of the show’s second season.

The 63-year-old Hollywood actress reportedly snagged the role of lead star Kaley Cuoco’s on-screen mother, Variety reported.

Stone is playing Lisa Bowden, the estranged mother of Cuoco’s Cassie Bowden. The Academy Award nominee will portray the recurring role throughout Season 2.

According to the official description for the character, Lisa would pretty much prefer to stay estranged from Cassie after dealing with the latter’s alcohol problems for so long. The mother is said to have already lost her patience, and she no longer has goodwill to spare.

It wouldn’t be the first time for Lisa to appear in the series. In the first season, viewers got a glimpse of the character in one flashback scene featuring Cassie’s childhood. However, it was actress Morgan Hallett playing the role at the time, TV Line noted.

Following the announcement of Stone’s casting, Cuoco, 36, happily introduced her on-screen mom to her fans on Instagram. She shared a snap showing her and Stone smiling as they sat close to each other on a couch.

“Welp, I can finally share this news … hi mom, I [love] you @sharonstone seriously what life am I living?!” she captioned her post.

Apart from starring in hit films, such as “Basic Instinct” and “Casino,” Stone has also appeared on several TV shows, including “Law & Order: SVU,” Netflix’s “Ratched,” HBO’s “Mosaic” and Showtime’s “Huff.”

Aside from Stone, the second season will also introduce fans to a “perfectly groomed, icy flight attendant” named Carol Atkinson, who will be played by “Euphoria” star Alanna Ubach.

HBO Max announced that Ubach will appear as a guest star. The number of episodes she would be featured in was not disclosed.

Other guest stars of “The Flight Attendant” Season 2 include Cheryl Hines, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Jessie Ennis, Margaret Cho, Mae Martin and Santiago Cabrera.

In addition to Cuoco, Zosia Mamet, Griffin Matthews, Deniz Akdeniz, Rosie Perez, Yasha Jackson, Audrey Grace Marshall and T.R. Knight are returning for the sophomore installment. They will be joined by new series regulars Callie Hernandez, JJ Soria and Mo McRae.
