South Korean Actor Lee Joon Gi recently opened up about his most memorable scene from the drama "Flower of Evil" and talked about his experience of working with co-star Moon Chae Won.

Actors Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won played the main leads in tvN’s suspense thriller drama "Flower of Evil" which was one of the most anticipated and successful K-dramas of 2020. The 16-episode series ended with a grand success on Sept. 23.

"Flower of Evil" portrays the story of Do Hyun Soo (Lee Joon Gi), a suspected criminal who lives under the identity of another man named Baek Hee Sung. He is married to Detective Cha Ji Won (Moon Chae Won), who begins to suspect that her seemingly perfect husband might be a serial killer.

During a recent interview, Lee Joon Gi talked about his most memorable scene from the drama.

"The scene I remember the most is when Hyun Soo realizes his feelings for the first time and starts sobbing. The director and I agonized over this scene even before we portrayed it," he said.

"That part was something that had us so stumped the more we thought about it that we even talked for close to an hour during rehearsal," he added while talking about the emotions displayed by the character who was misdiagnosed as anti-social and incapable of feeling emotions such as love and sympathy.

"If we failed to control the pace of the story and didn’t convince the viewers, we would've ruined the entire flow of emotions that we had created so far," he said. The actor also said he couldn’t stop crying even after the shooting of the scene and had to film with swollen eyes for several days.

The 38-year-old actor also talked about his friendship with the "Criminal Minds" co-star Moon Chae Won and mentioned that the two often discussed their projects and work before being cast in "Flower of Evil" and explained why he admires her.

"When I was having a lot of thoughts about deciding to join 'Flower of Evil,' Chae Won said to me that I’d be able to make my character completely charming, and I was able to become more confident," he said, according to Soompi.

The "Lawless Lawyer" actor also shared that he was inspired by how focused and detailed Chae Won is when portraying a character’s emotions.

"Thanks to Cha Ji Won, I was able to feel Do Hyun Soo’s emotions more strongly. She worked hard, and I should buy her something delicious to help her recover," Lee Joon Gi added.

Following the successful completion of his latest drama, the actor is currently looking out for his next project.
