Logan Paul went the distance with Floyd Mayweather in their eight-round exhibition fight Sunday night at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium. Paul stunned many by avoiding a knockout, though Mayweather got the better of the YouTuber in 24 minutes of ring action.

No winner was officially declared, per the rules of the fight, although the referee could’ve stopped the boxing match in the case of a knockout. Had there been judges ringside, it’s pretty clear that Mayweather would’ve won by unanimous decision.

The final stats favored the boxing legend. Mayweather landed 43 total punches, connecting on 36 of his 93 attempted power punches. Paul only hit Mayweather 28 times, landing 13% of his overall attempts.

Mayweather outboxed Paul, but the size difference was too much for him to end the fight prematurely. Mayweather weighed in at 155 pounds, while Paul was 189.5 pounds at the weigh-in. At 5-foot-8, Mayweather is 5.5 inches shorter than Paul.

Mayweather is 44 years old. He had his first professional boxing match in 1996, just one year after the 26-year-old Paul was born.

“You’ve got to realize I’m not 21 anymore but it’s good,” Mayweather said in the ring when the bout was over. “He’s better than I thought he was. Good little work. Tonight was a fun night.”

After the fight, Paul admitted that he wasn’t sure if he only went the distance because Mayweather let him do so. The wrestler-turned-boxer initiated plenty of clinching in an attempt to make it through all eight rounds.

“I wanted to give the people a show, and he was fighting to survive, as you guys could see,” Mayweather said. “Every time he would punch, he would clinch. He was the bigger guy, and a little awkward. But his background was in wrestling, so he was good at tying me up. A guy that came in over 200 and some pounds. I came in at 155, but no excuses. I had fun tonight.”

Since the bout was not an officially sanctioned boxing match, Mayweather maintained his perfect 50-0 record. Mayweather’s last professional fight was a 10th-round knockout victory over UFC star Conor McGregor in 2017.

Mayweather said he doesn’t know what the future holds when asked if he would fight Jake Paul, Logan’s brother, who is considered to be the better boxer and has a 3-0 professional record.
