Here’s just how silly fast food wars have become: “The French Fry Burger.”

What, you ask, is “The French Fry Burger”? Well it’s the latest menu item from Burger King (NYSE:BKC), the Miami-based chain known for its Whoppers and creepy plastic-masked mascot.

Beginning Sept. 1 the company will sell the burger, a regular Burger King burger topped with a (whopping?) four of the chain’s French fries, for $1. The offering is designed to compete with McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) successful $1 Menu.

Yep, one of the nation’s largest, most sophisticated restaurant firms has just invested who knows how much time and money to invent the burger your 4-year-old’s been making all year with his friends.
